PACKAGE DESIGN

This unique flip flop package design is half box and half hanger. The flip flops slide directly into place in between the front and back panel of the box. With foot shaped foam board to hold them in place.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

All three flip flop boxes feature bright colors, custom typography, and collage style design. I wanted this box design to reflect the fun spirit of surf culture.

To achieve a cohesive look among all three designs, I kept the front panel the same with different color placements across the three boxes. As well as creating different collages for the back panel, but keeping the same typography and badges.

FLIPPED BY REEF

FLIP FLOP PACKAGE DESIGN

A conceptual sub-line for REEF targeting young adults. This project includes custom packaging for three flip flops and graphics inspired by early 2000s surf culture and REEF’s original 1984 aesthetic.

The original 1984 Reef badge is on the left. I created a badge for Flipped by Reef, in the same style (on the right)

PATTERNS and ICONS

The custom patterns for the line were drawn by hand and then perfected in illustrator using the pattern brush tool. The hand drawn icons are sprinkled throughout the package as well.

I also created this custom logo for the Flipped by Reef line. FLIPPED is custom type I made in illustrator.

CONCEPT

This is a whole new flip flop line I created for the brand REEF. My goal with this line was to reimagine REEFs original retro charm. I wanted older audiences to be excited from an old memory of how surf culture used to be, while bringing in a whole new audience of a younger surf generation that appreciates the exciting yet laid back aspects of the surfing community.

This design isn’t just for surfers, its for all beach lovers!
